Have you heard about the Sun Parlour Coffee House Sessions? It’s a wonderfully collaborative initiative that developed out of the video recording we’ve been doing for Dale’s Friday Coffee House at The Bank Theatre and Meeting Place in Leamington Ontario.
The project is the brainchild of Neil Quiring who suggested that we bring local, and, not so local, artists into the studio to give them the opportunity to record a five-song set for broadcast on Cogeco TV.
I’m a Producer on the project alongside my good friend John P Moran. Gary Glass from Quantum Sound Productions is the Video Director, and another good friend Stu Campbell looks after the sound. We’ve also brought in my new coffee house co-host Jan Hall from Folk Roots Radio to do an interview with the artists while they’re in the studio. Jan’s partner Susan Wheeler looks after our website. I’m a little biased, but I think we make a great team!
You can now watch episodes of the Sun Parlour Coffee House Sessions on Cogeco Windsor/Leamington community channels 11 and 700 on Monday at 10 pm, Wednesdays at 4:30 pm and Saturdays at 11:30 pm.
The Sun Parlour Coffee House Sessions are recorded in the Quantum Sound Productions studio in Kingsville, Ontario and many of our sessions are now on Vimeo HERE. You should also check out our great new website at sunparloursessions.com.
Judy and I were in the first group of artists invited into the studio. I guess being part of the team I have ‘pull’!
